Who Were The Translator's?
On July 22, 1604 King James announced that he had appointed 54 scholars divided into six groups of nine. These scholars were the men who would begin the translation of the Bible into English. The men he chose were Godly scholars who loved God with their hearts. King James made sure all men were of great knowledge and of a high moral and spiritual standard.
Attacks levied against King James translators are common, but very few, if any of the accusers dare to look into the moral and spiritual sides of the Misters Westscott and Hort, as well as the many translators who have served on the transition committee's of the modern Bible versions, within this article, I would like to attempt to examine their lives and answer the attacks made against the King James translators.
King James I of England, IV of Scotland:
Men have alleged that King James was a homosexual. Is there any truth to this claim? Absolutely not. King James was a married man, he had several children. The accusation came forth after King James had died by a tobacco farmer who was upset with the King for inacting a royal decree for banning the sale and production of tobacco within the Kingdom.
Dr. William Goode:
Dr. William Goode was a translator on the KJB translation committee. Mr. Goode was a scholar and knew German, French, Hebrew and Greek. Mr. Goode was indeed a reportable man, but opponents of the King James Bibles says he was a drunk Any truth to this? I would say no, since Mr. Goode did what he could to prevent liquor from reaching the kingdom and is quoted as saying, "liquor is the devil's drink of deception" in his sermon on The Last Supper (Mr. Goode's Life Sermons, published by Westminster Reformed Press).
Lancelot Andrews:
Mr. Andrews was a scholar involved in the translation of the King James Bible, he was an expert in oriental languages and authored Greek devotional. Mr. Andrews could fluently speak 15 languages.
William Bedwell:
William Bedwell revived the Arabic language while England was colonizing the Arab nations. The language was about to die until Mr. Bedwell wrote an Arab to English Lexicon. More than likely, any Arabic lexicon is the lexicon Mr. Bedwell worked on.
Miles Smith:
Mr. Smith who served as a King James Bible translator translated most of the Early Church "Father's" writings (Clement, Augustine, Athanasius, etc.). Most English translations of their writings that are available today were accurately translated by Mr. Smith.
John Boyce:
John Boyce was a man of an admirable talent. He could read the Hebrew Bible at the age of five, and was considered a Hebrew scholar at the age of six. He began teaching adults the Hebrew language. David Otis Fuller noted in " A Proposition Paper on the Versions of the Bible:"
"When 14 he was a proficient Greek scholar and for years he spent from 4 o'clock in the morning till eight at night in the Cambridge library studying manuscripts and languages."
Westscott and Hort:
What would we find when we investigate the Mister's Westscott and Hort?
Brooke Foss Westcott (1825-1901) and Fenton John Anthony Hort (1828-1892) were the two English "scholars" founded a corrupt Greek text which most modern versions are based on.
So I raise the question to those who are critics of King James and his translators, could we accept the modern versions when the founders of it's Greek text believed, taught, and were involved in the following?
In the 1,800 pages of the Life and Letters of Brooke Foss Westcott and the Life and Letters of Fenton John Anthony Hort, you will not find a testimony of the saving power of Christ, or in any of their works. Nor did either man attest to their salvation. Jesus is mentioned only nine times, four of the nine times you will find the two scholars expressing doubt in the works of Christ.
Westcott was guilty of idolatry in his worship of Mary, and Mr. Hort sure expressed his approval when he stated "Mary worship has a lot in common with the worship of Jesus. Hort believed in keeping Roman Catholic sacraments, such teachings challenge the perfection of Christ's work on the cross of Calvary. Sacraments according to Rome are essential for salvation, therefore, we can conclude on this point Hort taught Jesus' death was not complete, and so we must add to his death, our works. Hort also believed in baptismal regeneration as taught in the Catholic church. (One reason for Acts 8:37 to be left out, according to Hort is "It was taken out due to my biased opinion toward Baptism." ).
Hort rejected the infallibility of Scripture, now we know why he could change what he did. Hort took great interest in the works of Charles Darwin, while both he and Westcott rejected the literal account of Creation, later, both men founded an association for atheists called The Paradox Association of I Ath.
Westcott did not believe in the Second Coming of Christ, the Millennium, or a literal Heaven. Both men rejected the doctrine of a literal Hell, and they both supported prayers for the dead in purgatory. Hort refused to believe in the Trinity and taught that it was an absurd doctrine, perhaps we now know why I John 5:7 is corrupted the way it is in modern (per) versions.
Hort did not believe in angels. Westcott was fond of communistic philosophy, while Westscott detested anything that was a democracy or a republic.
While it is accused of Mr. Richard Goode of being a drunk, Westcott, only twelve years after the Revised Version was published, became a spokesman for a brewery.
Both men were founders of satanic occults such as The Hermes Club, the Ghostly Guild, Hort was a member of The Apostles, and both men also started The Eranus Club. Some have even documented sources that claim both men were active Free Masons. They were members of groups that engaged in communication with the dead (i.e. necromancing) Most of this unbiblical activity took place while both men served on the Revision committee.
(Documented in William Gradey's "Final Authority," G.A. Riplinger's "New Age Bible Versions," and David Cloud.)
Vance Smith:
Before the committee officially convened as it attempted to destroy God's word, a communion service was held at Westminster Abbey. In attendance was Dr. Vance Smith, a Christ Deity rejecting Unitarian Pastor. The uproar caused the upper house of the Convocation of Canterbury to remove any person who denied the deity of Christ from the committee.
Samuel C. Gipp noted in his book, "An Understandable History Of The Bible" on page 165:
Westscott expressed his loyalty to apostasy when he threatened to
quit if the Convocation were successful in ejecting Smith [the
Unitarian] from the Committee. 'I never felt more clear as to my duty.
If the Company accepts the dictation of the Convocation, my work must
end. I see no escape from the conclusion.'"
As to the Unitarian, Dr. Hort said: "It is, I think, difficult to
measure the weight of the acceptance won before the hand for the
Revision by the single fact of our welcoming a Unitarian, a rejector of the deity of Christ." (pg. 165 "An Understandable History Of The Bible:")
Not only did Mr. Smith reject Christ's Deity, he also said pertaining to the second coming of Christ:
"This idea of the Second Coming ought now to be passed by as a merely
TEMPORARY incident of early Christian belief. Like many another ERROR,
it has answered its TRANSITORY PURPOSE in the providential plan, and may
well, at length, be left to rest in peace." (pg. 165 "An Understandable History Of The Bible:")
J.B. Phillips:
Mr. Phillips, founder of the modern perversion, The Phillips Bible, claimed to have nightly conversations with C.S. Lewis, a theologian from the 20th century. Dr. Edward DeVries notes in his book The Word of God Divinely Inspired and Inerrantly Preserved, that Mr. Phillips
admits in his own diary that he changed and perverted God's word and the King James Bible is superior.
Kenneth Taylor:
Kenneth Taylor showed good fruit as a translator on the Living Bible Translation Committee. The publishers of the Living Bible had to rewrite the Living Bible and remove the profanity Mr. Taylor put it.
Zondervan Publications:
Zondervan is owned by Fox, which is owned by Rupert Murdoch who recently contributed $10 Million to the construction of a Roman Catholic Cathedral in Los Angeles. Zondervan owns the rights to The New International Version of the Bible. In the 1988, Zondervan was purchased by Harper & Row, Publishers (now HarperCollins Publishers). HarperCollins publishes "pro-homosexual" books such as Making Out, The Book of Lesbian Sex and Sexuality described as "Beautifully illustrated with full-color photography,. . . Making Out is the complete illustrated guide to lesbian sexuality and relationships. . .the intricacies of love play. . ." and many other pro-homosexual books! Some have even documented claims that Zondervan is associated with underage pornography.
Rebecca Shays:
A Lesbian on the New International Translation Committee.
Virginia Mollenkott:
Ms. Mollenkott was a lesbian who served on the translation committee of the NIV. She served as an English Stylist, she made sure the words "sodomy" and "sodomite" do not appear in the NIV.
In 1962, Ms. Mollenkott was fired from Bob Jones University as a teacher of language because she tried to seduce a student of Bob Jones University into having improper relations with her. Bob Jones J. sent a letter to the translation committee warning them of Ms. Mellenkott's activity, but the committee paid no attention whatsoever to the warnings.
Dr. Martin H. Woudstra:
Mr. Woudstra served as the NIV's Chairman of the Old Testament translation, he too was also a homosexual.
Ally Campbell:
Ally Campbell is a high Wiccan witch who served on the following Bible translation committees:
Southern Baptist Bible Commentary, Ignatius Press Catholic Bible and Daily Liturgy, New Millennial, Contemporary English Version, New Jerusalem Bible, and The Bible for Teens. She served as head translators on every single one of these translation committees AFTER she was chosen by Rome to be a translator on the New Jerusalem Bible (she was chosen because she accepted the Apocrypha, only because you can find credence to the pagan doctrine of Purgatory [paganism founded the doctrine originally]). All of these Bibles, one way or another, refer to the Apocrypha and accept the Apocrypha as scripture, either in a footnote or in the canon.
Since the recent explosion of modern versions, there have been a few people who have seen the truth and have realized what they were involved in.
Dr. Frank Logsdon:
Mr. Logsdon was the translation chairman of the New American Version Bible, after the translation he came to realized what he had done he demanded that the NASV Bible would renounce and retract any association with his name. Mr. Logdson went as far as to say that he felt he was in trouble with God and that he was 100% sure the King James Bible is God's word.
Jerry Falwell and Curtis Hutson:
Both men sat on the translation committee of the New King James Version of the Bible and both men demanded that their names be removed from the board of editor listing. Dr. Falwell has gone so far as to call the modern translations "lesser versions."
Dean Burgon:
Dean John William Burgon was in charge of the translation committee of The Revised Standard Version which Mr. Westscott and Hort served on. Mr. Burgon later wrote tracts and articles regarding the faulty Greek text of Westcott and Hort and their faulty tactics in translating.
